Plurals in English

 

PLURALS IN ENGLISH

1.We form the plural by adding -s to the singular of the noun
    a lamp  ---- two lamps
  a table ---- two tables
  a chair---- two chairs

2. With  words that  in singular end in - ch,-sh,-x,-s we form the plural by adding -es. 
 a watch ----two watches
 a box ------- two boxes
 
3. Words that end in  consonant +y form the plural in  " ies "
 
   a country ---- Countries
   a dictionary--- dictionaries

* words that end in vowel+y form the plural in "s"
   a key ----- keys  

4. IRREGULAR PLURALS
   
a man.... men        
a child ...children
a woman .... women   
a person .....people
